Fantastic TV After researching for my first Flatscreen TV the SONY KDL32CX523 appeared on the market and checked all the boxes I required1 Full HD 1080p You'll normally see this high resolution mode when playing films via DVD/Blu ray players and other devices that support high resolutions.2 Freeview HD which will be available transmitter wise to more areas of the UK after the 2 switchover dates in April 20123 Internet TV ie BBC Iplayer + HD Youtube and loads more. I have had about 4 Firmware Updates so far downloads via the tv signal adding new Internet services and tweaks for the TV. I'm using an Ethernet cable straight from my ADSL Router which allows stutter free streaming providing your ISP doesn't have slow down problems at peak times!4 Good natural colours even out of the box.
OK but there are better options out there Spent a while researching all the merits of different televisions before settling on the Sony Bravia KDL32CX523BU. The features of a smart TV really appealed to me I watch a lot of TV on my laptop and have a lot of files already on my laptop so wanted to benefit from a TV that could play these.Out the box it was really easy to assemble and set up I didn't opt to pay the extra £50.00 for the wifi dongle I would recommend purchasing an
Excellent product excellent service. I was looking for a new TV for quite a while and after reading endless reviews I decided on the Sony KDL32CX523BU. It had everything I was looking for in a Smart TV and more. The picture quality is exceptional and it has loads of extra's too such as Skype BBCiplayer and Youtube to name but a few. although to access these you do need to purchase certain connectivity adapters but I knew this before I bought the TV. So all I have to say is if you are after a good 32 TV this is the one for you!The service through Amazon was quick and easy as ever I ordered the TV on the Tuesday and it was hanging on my wall by the following Friday So all in all I am delighted with the whole experience and will definitely be shopping again in the near future.
Affordable HD not for SD. The remote is light and could be considered cheap and using it can be a chore some buttons are illogically placed. The UI on the tv is a little cumbersome but responsive. Plenty of options to alter the picture and sound although they don't always appear to have an affect.Tv was quick to turn on and minimal delay when changing channels. Easy to setup and autotuning worked well.Picture HD programmes via Freeview are great although weirdly text can sometimes appear blocky!! Even motion was good. Bluray movies are sharp and are much better than DVD's.SD programmes lack detail and cannot compare with the good old CRT tv's. Some tweaks may be needed to improve the picture such as to reduce a purple tinge that infected a persons hair in an 80's drama! SD images often had jagged edges! DVD's were disappointing lacked detail. Motion was noticeably blurry too.GamingI use this for gaming with my PS3 and it suits me perfectly. I dont play many fast moving games but for Buzz and the Uncharted series its perfect even if it is only a 50hz set.SoundIt's fine. I live in a flat so booming wattage wouldn't be welcome. Music did seem to play louder than voices but playing around with sound options resolved this.Tv guide is excellent. Compared with my 19 Sharp it actually downloaded the full 7 days of tv shows instead of 2. And there were no annoying adverts like the Panasonic recorders have. But to set a reminder for a show is longwinded requires 5 key presses. And you cant set a series reminder!I've seen some of Samsungs £1k offerings and those units are truely amazing especially with SD transmissions and DVDs. For a budget set with excellent HD ability for Freeview HD bluray and console gaming then get this one.
Sony LCD TV with Freeview HD and Internet Very happy with the purchase of this product by Sony from Amaon. Arrived securely and promptly. Easy to set up.
Superb TV Highly Recommended !! I spent a great deal of time researching the options before settling on the Sonythe two best TVs in this price bracket are the Sony or the Panasonic Viera range but the Sony offered the best value for money. The overall quality is outstanding the picture is true HD 1080p but I would advise spending some time playing with the settings the default picture is good but it can be fine tuned to be even better. The controls are easy to use setup is childs play and the DLNA functions just clinched the deal for me.
Telly Good picture good sound easy to set up though I have not tried the internet connection thingy wireless or otherwise. That's for another day. Better than a recently purchased 32 Toshiba. Quite quick to turn on.
I was persuaded to buy by positive reviews but .. I was persuaded to buy because of positive reviews but four things made this an awful experience 1. Setting it up is a nightmare. I have a sky receiver too no acknowledgement of this type of receiver.2. I searched and search for the NETFLIX app I used love film on pc and iPad but it was nowhere near as good as netflix. Sadly Sony Internet tv does not yet do the Netflix App. I called Netflix and they said Sony is working on the UK app. Ok I'll wait.3. The remote control is a NIGHTMARE imagine typing on that while surfing the web . It's so slow and so difficult to type. Where's the Sony keyboard? Can I get a wireless keyboard and use that instead? I don't know and noone seems to be able to tell me.4. I read negative reviews about the sound and thought surely not it's Sony. How wrong I was . The sound is too tinny and feels like tinnitus in your war. You need to buy speakers to deal with that.
I cannot fault this TV Our family already owned Sony CRT Trinitrons since the millennium and also a 2010 LCD Bravia EX series I thought not much could be improved on with this model which I brought for myself. I was worried as there's mixed reviews online and a lot of people say the sound isn't that great. However I'm pleased to say that this TV is FANTASTIC and up to the Sony reputation.LOOKSWell built solid stylish fairly slim and with a touch of class to the design the metal effect strip at the bottom it doesn't look tacky the way those supermarket brand TVs do. The remote is the typical Sony 'stick' design no awards for style but very responsive and well laid out.PICTUREOut of the box brilliant but maybe a not bright enough.
No Netflix Sony support Lovefilm which has a very poor selection of films. For some reason they do not support Netflix which has a much better range of content. If you are considering this to view online films would recommend considering the Samsung instead.
